Product Description
Replica of a Ford Taunus Transit FK1000 flatbed truck in the design of a municipal vehicle for the city of Bamberg. Ford built this small van from 1953 to 1965. It was available with three different payloads: 800 kg, 1,000 kg, or 1,250 kg. The variety of transport tasks in the 1960s called for a variable system. That is why Ford did not build individual Transit models, but rather a complete Transit system, the CUSTOMIZED TRANSPORTER system. These were agile, fast transporters with large loading areas and practical door combinations, as well as robust, powerful gasoline or diesel engines. The solid frame construction, with a low unladen weight, made high payloads possible. However, it was never able to pose a threat to the competition from Wolfsburg.
