Yesterday the 66th Slotmania took place in Stetten near Stuttgart in beautiful weather. Many slot enthusiasts found their way there and to our stand. Once again this spring, we were able to have nice conversations with our customers and maintain the personal contacts in the scene that are so important to us. We were very pleased with the high level of interest in our range.
The two Opel Kadett Cs received good feedback from our customers. The next Bauer novelty is already in the works: a Mercedes Benz 230 golden yellow as a New York cab. We don't know whether such a Mercedes was actually on the road as a cab in New York at the time, but it has turned out to be a nice model.
The special thing about this model is the two figures. We had thought about what a cab driver in the 1960s might typically look like. During this research, we came across the classic movie “Taxi Driver” by Martin Scorsese from 1976. The story of the movie fascinated us, which is why Travis Bickle, played by Robert de Niro, is at the wheel, chauffeuring the underage prostitute Iris. Iris is played in the movie by 14-year-old Jodie Foster. It was her first movie role ever. We plan to start deliveries of the #4551 MB Taxi NYC in mid-April.
The two Opel Commodore GS2800 models were very popular. The white and black Tour de France version is almost sold out. Delivery of the #9161 MGB Hardtop British GT is complete. The small remaining quantity that we were able to offer in the store is completely sold out. This means that we cannot offer a second model for subscription customers.
We were able to present our stock car racing models to visitors to Slotmania. Unfortunately, an important part could not be delivered in time, so the start of sales will begin a few days later. The model of the 65 Chevy Impala in the racing version of Smokey Yunick with Bobby Allison at the wheel is now visible in the store and can be linked to a notification. The model is equipped with our UltraLow chassis. This enables us to reproduce the interior in extreme detail. This is unique. The decoration is elaborately designed in 2 colors. All the lettering from the original can be found. The edition is only 150 pieces! All models are individually numbered.
