Team Lotus was a Formula 1 racing team from 1958 to 1994.
The first outing of the Lotus 99T with Ayrton Senna at the wheel was at the Monaco GP in 1987. Senn was unable to win the world championship that season, although he could have secured the title early on. However, this was only decided in the final race, in which a second place would have been enough for him, which he was able to achieve. However, he was disqualified after the race due to illegal brake ventilation openings and finished third in the drivers Championship.
